Free Music – Placebo Battle for the Sun Free Download
Placebo have announced an exclusive free download of the title track from their new album ‘Battle For The Sun’ available only from their official website PlaceboWorld.
‘Battle For The Sun’ is due to be released on 8th June and is Placebo’s first new album since ‘Meds’ released in 2006. The title track made its worldwide premier as the Hot Record on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show on March 17th and the response from fans was so overwhelming that it was played again in its entirety at the end of the show.
Radio 1’s Zane Lowe said: "It's been a long time since we got a reaction like this for our H.R., Placebo fans have always been passionate and loyal and I reckon we had a planet full of them tuned into Radio 1 tonight for the first play of 'Battle for the Sun'.”
‘Battle For The Sun’ was recorded over a 3 month period in Toronto with producer Dave Bottrill who has previously worked with Tool. The album was mixed in London by Alan Moulder, renowned for his work with Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins and My Bloody Valentine. It is the sixth album from Placebo who have sold 10 million albums worldwide.

Brian Molko said he’s “in a positive frame of mind and a good head space” about the new album and added ”There’s a lot of life in the old dog just yet.”
The first official single will be 'For What It’s Worth', released on June 1st. The single will be available on 7”, CD and Digital Download, featuring a cover of Nick Kershaw’s classic, “Wouldn’t It Be Good” as the B-side.
Placebo headline the Clash Arena at Rockness, Dores near Inverness on Sunday 14th August 2009 before going on to play the main stage at the Reading Festival on Friday 28th August 2009 and the Leeds Festival on Sunday 30th August.
