Foo Fighters ‘Wheels’
Free Music Video Downloads

For many, Foo Fighters have been the voice of a generation. After six bestselling studio albums, including the epic double-disc set 'In Your Honour', their ‘Greatest Hits’ album was released in 2009. It encompasses a broad range of material from their impressive catalogue, ranging from the raw angst of their self-titled debut to the mature but no less energetic modern rock of their most recent studio album, 'Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace', released in 2007. An interesting addition to this already formidable package is the new and previously unreleased single, 'Wheels', which encapsulates the Foo Fighters' sound excellently. It is a single which draws greatly upon their classic rock influences, but is still delivered with the vitality of their most angst-ridden tracks.

Foo Fighters' self-titled debut was largely a solo effort from front man Dave Grohl, who had previously drummed for influential grunge superstars Nirvana. After Kurt Cobain's untimely death in 1994, Grohl recorded Foo Fighters' debut, on which he played every instrument and sang every vocal. After the album received interest, he drafted in a live band featuring members of influential post-hardcore band Sunny Day Real Estate and began touring in 1995 to promote the album. It is a raw and powerful debut, which featured the singles 'This Is A Call' and 'Big Me', both of which appear on the ‘Greatest Hits’ album.

Their follow-up album, 'The Colour and The Shape' followed in 1997 after a line-up change and was incredibly well-received, pushing the band into stardom. The hit singles 'My Hero', 'Everlong' and 'Monkey Wrench', which all feature on the ‘Greatest Hits’ album, followed the album and were well-received due to their humorous and well-produced music videos, which reflect the band's positive outlook, as well as their incendiary live performances.

'There Is Nothing Left To Lose' followed in 1999 to further critical acclaim, particularly due to the hit single 'Learn To Fly'. It was their first single to feature in the US Hot 100 and won them their first Grammy award in 2000, given for the song's music video, in which each member of the band plays a number of different characters.

'One by One' followed in 2002 and the double-disc album 'In Your Honour' was released in 2005, by which time Foo Fighters were firmly established as a highly influential stadium rock band. 'In Your Honour' was a significant album because it featured one disc of rock songs and one of down-tempo acoustic songs, a departure for the band which was nevertheless a huge hit. They headlined the UK's Reading Festival in the same year.

By the time their most recent studio album, 'Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace' was released, the band had sold out London's Hyde Park, performed alongside Queen and won a total of six Grammys, all of which are indications of their prowess and influence as a great rock band. Their ‘Greatest Hits’ album includes all their hit singles, as well as new and unreleased material and is a perfect chronology of one of the world's biggest rock bands.
